Our Mission

"If all our cultures are pieces of a puzzle, it is our job to put this picture together."- The Respect Project

Line of Inquiry - An Inquiry into: how people with different strengths can solve an issue if they work together.

Mission Statement - Our mission is to try and prevent racism in our community, as well as encourage others to get involved and learn about others' cultures.

The Community Challenge - A challenge in our community is racism, and the fact that not everyone is treated equally as an individual. Since Auckland is almost a melting pot of different cultures, respecting others as well as their countries is incredibly important.

In the past we have seen what can happen if racism goes too far. World War II is an example of this. Racism starts way back when people were sold as slaves. Even now, research shows that the police in America check on people of a specific skin colour more than others. Although our situation is not as extreme, it is crucial that we understand how racism can affect people and the way they live.

Whether it is in public or at school, racism is an issue. It doesn't matter who you're targeting, racism is not acceptable.

Our Mission- Many of us have witnessed racism, whether it was at school or on the news. This has inspired us to try and make everyone learn more about others, no matter where they come from or what they look like. We chose an issue that happens everyday around us, and everyone can relate to. Most children in schools have been targeted with racism at least once, regardless of their nationality. We want to encourage others to stand up for their friends, or anyone who they see as a victim of racism.
